hi guys,

i recorded this solve a while ago, probably towards the start of the year.

This was the first sub-10 i had gotten. So yay for me!

The scramble: D2 R2 U' D2 B R2 F B' R2 D B2 U2 F2 B L2 F2 B2 U' B2 D2 F' R' B R' F

I think it had an x-cross. but double check. The solve was pretty straight forward and easy.

Bye guys!

Hello there. Watch this!

From speedsolving glossary:
"lolben" is a phrase used to flame or lightly ridicule users on the Speedsolving Forums. It is applied almost exclusively to user ben1996123 (Ben Whitmore).

ben1996123 posted several videos in late 2009 and early 2010 that were severely flamed for being blatantly rehearsed (e.g. 8.16 second 3x3 solve (with scramble and solution)). These videos showed extremely fast, some sub-9, single times with correspondingly ridiculously easy solutions, along with poor fingertricks and blatantly rehearsed reactions afterward. Understandably, the forums had its haxxor detector on max mode. ben1996123's defense, which started by providing Cube Explorer-generated scrambles and solutions, degenerated into rants protesting that his solves were genuine. Subsequent posts by ben1996123 were also flamed, until the community realized the futility of long flames. Instead, the term "lolben" was coined to flame with ease.

The term is now used whenever users encounter an erroneous claim, a fake video, or even just a funny moment. As Waffo says, "tl;dr - lolben because lolben is lol."
well, to be in all honesty, this solve was real,ok?! You may think that it was fake because of my "fake, not that excited, happy reaction".

Just don't just straight away think that my solve was fake. ok? (I'm now like very low in the mood, thanks Chris...)

If this isn't fake, then I'm sorry!
It just looks fake since you have almost no pauses, and your competition PB avg/5 isn't sub 20.

hm. I think they're only really nice if it's not intentionally misleading. Was fun watching breandan's fake avg, but otherwise it's lol fake noob etc.

not a huge fan of boobs tbh :P

that competition was back in january.....

I dont think that this is fake. when i was sub-20 i got an amazing 3x3 single that I will never be able to beat again.

''i recorded this solve a while ago, probably towards the start of the year.''

I thought it was fake, but after watching some other of his videos I realized it's pretty possible that the solve was legit.

Err..what other videos are you talking about? He has no other 3x3 vids..even a slow official 2x2 vid which doesn't even help

I reconstructed this, because I thought it would be interesting to see.
The OLL might have been done different.

z' Lw' U2 // X-cross
y z' U L' U' L // 2nd pair
Dw' U' R U2 R' y U L' U' L // 3rd pair
U U' R U' R' U R U R' // 4th pair
U Fw R U R' U' R U R' U' Fw' // OLL
R U R' U' R' F R2 U' R' U' R U R' F' /T perm

49htm / 8.83sec / 5.55tps

After having done this, it doesn't seem as fake, just quite lucky. So yeah, sorry for calling it fake.
