Hey guys, i have been doing cfop my whole cubing life (around 2-3months) and my times average around 23 on a good day, and my pb is 18. I am SO BORED OF CFOP already and i want to try other methods. Im looking into shadowslices ssc which seems pretty good, and i have a bit of experience with roux (one solve). Any other methods? ZZ? Preferably one that is relatively easy to learn, has a decent tutorial already, and can get me sub-7. Any others? Freefop seems interesting since i dont have to relearn much algorithms, but it is debatably on the slow-ish side? Or petrus with cfop ll?
Thanks!

Yeah, if you want new methods, learn things like Roux/ZZ and see which ones you like. Then practise that method a bit. Petrus with CFOP LL is harder than normal Petrus so don't try that.

But if you want to get sub-7, which nobody in the world is yet, then you're going to need either Roux, CFOP or ZZ and many, many hours of practice.

What about freefop?

I don't know enough about it to say much, but I don't think it's as fast as CFOP/Roux/ZZ.
The sad truth is, cfop is simply the most developed, which puts it above roux and zz. If every cfop user switch to other methods, surely that method will be more developed, hence more techniques, and more people who are dedicated to actually make it to the top. :(

FreeFOP is certainly viable. I found it a pretty easy transition from CFOP, you just have to work on using the M slice for new F2L cases, and EO in the last step. I can give you a full breakdown, if you want.
That certainly seems interesting. A break down would be useful. I dont get why you need EO though. I thought FreeFOP was just f2l any way you want, and then last layer. I dont want to relearn any last layer algs though. Is EO necessary? And why is it needed anyway? Thanks!
p.s. What are your times?
