we all probably know that cube colors can be similar sometimes. especially red-orange and white-yellow in my opinion

so I was thinking, what 6 colors are maximally far apart from each other? I think it is red, green, blue, cyan, yellow, and magenta. but feel free to chime in if you know a lot about color theory

of course people are already accustomed to their color scheme, and it would be difficult to switch. but should we try to advocate to make this the standard for new cubers?

I know nothing about colour theory, but I agree that some colours are way too similar. If you've ever tried cubing in the dark, you know what I mean. I don't know the difference between red and orange, and between white and yellow. Luckily green and blue are easy to tell apart

Pretty good, but I would switch cyan with black since that is more different than blue and is already pretty standard as a color side.

We have a to change the teal to something else imo like black or something

Unless you're cubing in the dark, some colours being closer together make it clearer that they are opposite.

Edit: That sounds counterintuitive but is the general rule that has been created.

I set up a gts2m with this color set. It’s pretty suboptimal.

As far as I’m concerned, my color scheme is probably as close to optimal as we will get.
