Im trying to learn 2 look, but i cant rmb the OLLs.....any suggestions on hw 2 memorize them???

I suggest you visit Macky's cubefreak.net if you haven't. http://cubefreak.net/OLL.html
In my opinion, it has plenty of valuable advice, and from a very experienced cuber at that. Anyway, there are some links there to other sites where you might gather more tips on memorization too. BTW, there's already a page on this forum that gives a list on some OLL cases you might find easier to learn than those on other sites as it has plenty of useful algs compiled into one thread. Hope this helps :D http://www.speedsolving.com/forum/showthread.php?t=766

Im trying to do the same as you actually. have you learnt all the easy ones yet? like the ones that are like F(RUR'U')x2 F'? those are actually a bit harder to remember in terms of which shape they go with. My fave OLL page is here http://badmephisto.mine.nu/oll/ollpage.php
there are good explanations, and he makes it straightforward to learn them. Im on 32 now :) When youre learning, do it like the PLLs, as in you repeat it as many times as you can for however long, making sure you know exactly what pattern it is. one OLL will take you through a circle of about 6 algs, so you have to concentrate on which you are learning. i recommend 'time attacking' the OLLs you already know with the sheet in front of you.
anyway, good luck =)

Presumably you are already very fast? Personally, I don't think it's worth learning the OLLs until you hit a major wall with the rest of your solve. I'm guessing something like 30 seconds for someone like me, maybe 25 or 20 seconds for some of you really fast guys. I'm still well into the 30s so I'm not bothering right now, as full OLL only buys you around 3 or 4 seconds total for the price of having to learn an additional 49 algs. (compared to 3LLL).

Brian.

It's not unheard of for people to get sub-20 averages using only a 3LLL.

Okay like blgentry said before I wouldn't learn the OLLs until you can't seem to find a way to get faster in your solve.

I just got my first sub 20 average a few days ago and my F2L still needs LOTS of improvement. I know like 13 OLLs or something like that.

I don't think it's a bad idea to learn all OLLs if you're "only" decent with 3LLL, 'cause I was thinking, the sooner you learn it, the sooner you will get good at it.. So maybe instead of as a desperate hope to get faster, it's just a way to get faster - faster!

Learn 2-look OLL first, obviously, then move onto recognisable OLLs (the other T pattern, boxes, no-edges-oriented etc.) to supplement these basic algorithms. Also, don't bother learning too many OLLs in a short period of time, otherwise you'll throw off your lookahead to the stage where it would've been quicker to solve that case with two look OLL.

yes, it really is, once you hit 20s or less. at the moment you could relatively easily drop ten seconds if you switch to f2l. learning all the PLLs is invaluable too(i assume you dont know them all yet if youre using lbl). Full fridrich is a big undertaking...
