I'm learning Fridrich, and i can average 1 min cross+F2L(very bad, i know) , but i'm stuck with OLL, i just can't do it.

I have seen all of those algs for oll, but i just can't understand how to memorize and apply them...

Someone said it would be quite easy to do the oll after doing the ll cross... but i don't even know how to do the ll cross... (in my begginer method i used FDL D'L'F until i got the cross...but it takes a long long time)

Suggestions?

i suggest learning the 4 look last layer

1. orient edges
2. orient corners
3. permute corners
4. permute edges

algorithms for 1.
R U R' U R' F R F' U2 R' F R F' in case of no edges oriented
F U R U' R' F' in case of UL & UB edges oriented
F R U R' U' F' in case of UL & UR edges oriented
3 algorithms

algorithms for 2.
look for the OLL algorithms where all edges are correctly oriented.
7 algorithms

algorithms for 3.
both A permutations
2 algorithms

algorithms for 4.
both U permutations
2 algorithms

overall 14 algorithms to learn.
you can improve this 'method' by learning more PLL algorithms. if you know every PLL, its a 3 look last layer, because of combined steps 3 & 4.
then start learning the OLL algorithms to master the fridrich method.

good luck :)

Why not try 3 look LL first instead of the 2 look OLL PLL. Orient edges (2 algorithms), orient corners (7 algorithms), permute LL (21 algorithms).

F U R U' R' F'
F R U R' U' F'

Both will get you the cross you need.

21 may sound like alot, but it's seriously worth it cause it'll cut your average down quite a bit.

The main ones I used to use are

F U R U' R' F'

F R U R' U' F'

R U R' U R U2 R'

If you know where to use them you can get the OLL done. Over the past two days I learnt 19/57 OLL algorithms and the last two G permuations. I now know all the PLLs. Since learning the OLLs I've got my fastest down from 36 to 32.13 and my average down to 39.54. PLLs are more important than OLLs but OLLs are still a vital thing to know if you want to become very fast.

Thank you very much... now i understand it better.

but if i get for instance a -=x (three edges oriented) what should i do?

those algs don't work with that situation...

(sorry for being a n00b, but i'm stuck with this and i've already tried both algs)

Are you saying that you have 3 edges oriented correctly? If that is true, and the F2L is solved, than you will have to pop an edge piece out and flip it around, because there are always an even number of edges oriented. Otherwise, the algs given should work.

OMG thank you so much.... it was an edge piece turned around.

i did something like 5 hours just trying to do the ll cross... just dumb....

thank you all for helping me...

There is a way to do it slowly. I tought my little brother this way. If you just use an anti-sune move, you can orient the corners in max 3 times. I got this method from Taka's site [link]http://dosanko-cubist.hp.infoseek.co.jp/English/to_solve/oll.html[/link]. It works, if you don't feel like spending a lot of time on learning OLL moves.
