Many electronic devices with small screws have them nylon-coated (usually blue colored) to help them stay screwed in and not loosen on their own.
Given that screws loosening on their own is a common problem with cubes, maybe cube manufacturers can adopt this process.

It would be better to just coat the core threads in nylon so that way if a screw got messed up or lost, any ordinary screw could be used

Ok I just found out about thread-locking fluid

I wonder if it would work for my moyu cubes which had screws loosen on their own?
I would recommend buying plumbers Teflon tape first. You just wrap it around the threads and then screw the screw in and it should stay quite well. And it’s cheap.

I'm not so sure about this. We use loctite red, blue and green at work, but on only metal to metal connections. Pretty sure it would not work very well on metal to plastic in puzzles. Most would be stronger than the plastic threads and could easily damage then. I know they also make a weaker purple version, but we have never used it since we usually do engineering evaluations on large units, so I can't say anything about it.

oh yeah didn't the valk power or elite have metal threads? I kinda wish manufacturers would do that for their higher end puzzles
