Number of times solved the cube before method

This is pretty much what the title says, how many times did you solve the cube before learning a definite method.

For me it was twice, each took about 8 hours, before I deceided to learn a method.

When I first figured it out, I solved all the corners first, then did the edges. I would guess it was about 10 times before I finally figured out a consistent way to get the last 4 corners oriented correctly, before solving the edges. Prior to that, I would try to solve the 8 corners first, and if they were solved but a couple were oriented incorrectly, I would rescramble a bit and try again. So I'd say I finally had a definite method about 10 times after my first solve. Not a very good method, mind you, but a definite method.
