When you make a new method up, how do you calculate the number of algorithms that you will need? Im thinking of 2x2 because I just made a method (hopefully it dosent already exist). If anyone will please calculate the number of algs needed that will be a great help.

The method is (on 2x2) inserting the last corner of the first layer, and orienting the last layer in 1 algorithm, and I need to know how many algs there would be in that method.

Please help!

Hey, I actually thought I had invented this to at one point but no this is already a method, called SS. It stands for Sun-Stern or Stern-Sun idk which comes first.
Oh and I think it is about 65-ish.

He is suggesting doing the F3C of the first layer, all solved, not just 3/4 of a face. Then the last corner + OLL in one step (like CLS except without having to worry about edges) and then CPLL. SS does 3/4 of a face (not layer), then orients the opposite face while finishing the first face, and then ortega-style permutation of both layers at once.

As for the actual method....I cant see it being very easy to learn, and I can't see it matching CLL or Ortega in speed, since there is an independent PLL step AFTER a reasonably lengthy LC+OLL step.

^You do realize that 2x2 PLL's can be sub second right?
It can be faster than Ortega.

PLL's can be subsecond...but after spending a second or two on 3/4 of a layer and a second or two or three on LC+OLL, the last step taking "only" a second or less isn't very significant. After doing 3/4 of a layer, instead of splitting the rest into 2 mediumsize steps, why not split it into 1 short step (insert the last corner) and 1 medium step (CLL) which....can be sub second just as easily as PLL can.
