When I was cubing first my time was 1:16
Reduced to 50 then 45 and suddenly in 2 weeks 32
Now I'm a 25 and wanna get sub 20.
2 months have passed still not much result
Any tips?
And what method to use
I currently stick with cfop but 2 look oll
Should I learn full oll or its a waste of time??
Also suggest for the method of solving....

All methods are equal before time (that sucks, just created) You can get sub 10 with cfop and also any other methods listed. I know currently 2 methods, cfop and petrus, learning zz. They are all capable of getting sub 10, even roux. Just is the time you give to training and how you train. I dropped from 25 sec to 22 sec in 3 days and currently I am 21 sec and in a week or two, I will be sub 20. What I do is for practice, use a stiff cube with no lubrication. You have to struggle with the cube naturally. Then when you come to speedcube, you automatically do better than last time due to that stiff cube practice. And also you can get sub 17 with 2 look oll and full pll. The thing is how fast you can execute and recognise them. for sub 20, F2L and cross should be done by 12 sec and then give your time to oll/pll. Hope this helps. Work a lot of F2L and PLL. Try doing cross in 3 sec avg :)

Yes, go slow and try to look ahead. Getting good at F2L requires a lot of practice. It's natural for progress to slow significantly at just over 20 seconds.

CFOP is fine. Full OLL isn't required to be sub-20 - I've had sub-15 solves with 2-look OLL, and I average 18s. Changing method won't make you faster - you've already invested a lot of time in CFOP. You could try Roux, by all means, it's another very popular method. ZZ is also fast, but (statistically speaking) the fastest method is still currently CFOP.

They are all capable of getting sub 10, even roux

Why "even roux". Alex Lau is 3rd fastest in the world, and he uses Roux. If anything, you should say "even Petrus". I don't know ANYONE who is fast and uses Petrus!

you can get sub 17 with 2 look oll and full pll.

This is very specific! As above, you can be far faster than sub-17 with 2-look OLL. Pretty sure anyone who's sub-9 or faster could sub-10 with 2-look OLL.

I like the idea of bad cube practice though!

I can say I've currently become sub 20 solver I was 22-25 sec for about 3 months I had the same problem of not improving. Now I'm 18-19 second solver . the difference that has come is because I didn't time myself for about a week and watched example solves of top solvers (Must watch the video in which 12 best solvers solve the same scramble, its on youtube ) . For a week I just used to pick the cube and solved the cross , stopped and saw three pieces 1 F2l pair and a corner or an edge then as I used to insert the 1st pair + looked for the edge or the corner for second pair and so on ,then I paced up bit by bit. this developed a bit of sense of look ahead in me . Just improve your f2l and you can be sub 20. Y

I was at the sub 20 barrier for ages (maybe 8 months?). Keep practicing and looking ahead. I average around 13-15sec now and i still don't know full OLL (missing around 5-8 cases). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_auWRQzWxM watch this and you'll see that you don't need to turn fast at all to even be sub 15.

this thread is as pointless as all the other threads about "blablabla how do i get faster; im stuck blablabla" dude 20 is a barrier where alot of people are stuck practice your cross and f2l then know full pll and 2 look oll and just practice thats is same thing for me i am sub 18 ( sub 19 atm cause i didnt practice) and i was also stuck on 20 barrier for awhile then i practiced and broke it what tips do you expect? there are none just practice and youll get it.

Why Even Roux? I like the idea of Roux and I know Alex is the 3rd fastest and WR of 100 solves avg. It is just that people dont like using Roux (idk) so I said even Roux giving Roux a little more importance than the other 3 methods mentioned. I didnt say Even Petrus because I give it little importance than other methods :)

And the other one, I said SUB 17 and you can easily be sub 17 in like 2-3 weeks with 2 look oll. My friend has 13 sec avg and he uses 2 look oll but it takes more practice. thats why I said easily sub 17 because people have a wrong thing that for getting sub 17, I have to learn OLL otherwise I am doomes :p So thats why. Hope I made everything clear :)

Well thanks everybody and there's no way around except practice then. Approximately how much time would it take to cross the barrier? Just curious...

It depends on how much time you put into it. Also everyone improves at different paces. For best results just keep up consistent practice (daily ideally). The more days you go without solving much the more you will maintain your current level and not improve as fast. Do a bunch of solves then take a break then do some more.

some people have already given their approximations in this thread. 3-6 months.
