for 3x3..

1. ortega corners (or whatever)

2. finish Redges and Ledges (after a rotation)

3. finish midges in 1 look, ie permute + orient at the same time instead of orienting before permuting....

I've gotten a 26.xy avg12 with this method and an 18.xy single.

my concern is the 3rd step. is it really feasible? would 2 look (orient, then permute) be better?
recognition sucks but i guess over time it should get better.
the algs are mostly <M U> I think...
I counted a total of 17 cases (for midges that are not all oriented)...correct me if i am wrong...

I think a one-look third step would be feasible. Personally I think some of the bad cases would be really bad, but some people would be able to do bad cases more easily than others. I did a solve using this method just now and I got 32.06 seconds. I used my cf/blockbuilding method and I got 16.13 seconds. I think it is an ok method, but other corners first methods are better.

Here's how I do mine:

1) Using blockbuilding I solve the first layer on the White or Yellow sides.

2) Next I solve the corners. I still do not know all of the cases.

3) Using one algorithm I solve 3 redges. I had to come up with some cases on my own, but it still decreases the amount of time you'd have to spend with the recognition of the next step.

4) Next I solve just like Ortega/Waterman, but because there are less pieces to put into position I do not use as many algorithms.

I think if I learned how to solve all the midges in one algorithm, I would decrease the number of bad cases, but I do not have the algorithms yet, and the next thing on my list is to learn all of the CLL algorithms.

Oh! Also I'd have to say it's actually really good to get a 26.xy average of 12 with this method if you've just started using it. Good job!
