No Edges OLL

For the past couple of months, I've been using this method that I came about on my own and I'm sure you already know it. Instead of inserting my pairs by ru'r' or something of the sort when I only have the center, I'll do r'frf' which gives me a two edge case. Also with some two edge cases I can s the same and get a 4 edge case. If anyone else does this or knows about the help or harm, can you tell me? I figure its a good thing so I don't have to learn 7 hard OLLs. But if anyone knows of some unseen danger that could potentially mess me up, it'd be nice if you told me

This is the most common and basic edge control technique. Pretty much everyone uses it, so sorry if you thought you were original.

Props for finding it on your own though.

Yup, R' F R F' is called the sledgehammer, and what you are doing is definitely good. Most people call it edge control, and basically all fast cubers use it. You should learn those 7 OLLs anyway because sometimes you insert the last pair with R U R' ore something, which makes the edge orientation harder to control.

What your doing is called edge-control (R' F R F' is the most common way of orienting edges, it is called 'Sledgehammer'). No edge OLLs suck when it comes to speed, but they aren't hard to learn at all. I would still recommend learning them at some point, they're only 7 algs and there are at 3/4 of them that are ridiculously easy to learn.

Dangers? No.

R U' R'... R' F R F'

Fixed. The uppercase is important.

I know it wasn't original, I think I remember hearing about it in one of Felik's videos. I just wanna know if it's helpful or harmful.
