New to the Community, and four days of basic cube experience. Hey!

Today I filed my cube down, and even though at the time it seemed fruitless, the benefits seem to be insanely good.

I'm cracking down on this now, but the wait for my new cube is beginning to dawn on me (14-21 days :s )

You have really got into this haven't you. Your PB is impressive at such an early stage with a basic cube. I'm 3 weeks in myself. I've got F2L sorted and am looking at 4LLL but I've realised that the beginner's method I've been using is a bit odd so I'm starting from scratch on the last layer.
Hope you keep your enthusiasm.

I can't be sure I used an offical algorithim-based scrambler. I mean, I do make an effort to scramble the cube a lot, and when I practice sometimes I'll use an actual scrambler, but I can't be sure.

...does it still count then?

You can count your PBs that you've already got. The scramble won't make much of a difference at your speed. If you want a good timer, qqTimer is a good website to use. There are several others, but that's one that many people use.

It really doesn't matter. As long as the cube is nicely scrambled no one could object, although there might be some people around here who would be unhappy to accept a hand-scrambled PB. My response to someone like that would be "well Feliks is happy to hand-scramble cubes, and you can't argue with his abilities". (Every now and then the Melbourne cubers get together at a shopping mall here and just cube, and most of the time we just hand-scramble).

Don't I do that too? :D

To be honest I wouldn't know, but if you do then my congratulations to you :)

Sup.
I'm a fourteen year old cuber as well- I'm not too fast, although something that REALLY helped me is to explore other methods. You get a much better understanding of the cube, and as others have said, make sure to choose well.

I'll be the first one to tell you to slow down and look ahead.

I'll be the first one to tell you that this didn't work for me, so if it doesn't work for you, try to spam TPS, lookahead comes with time.

My 2 cents.
This worked for me too, but won't work for everyone. Try this at first, and if it doesn't work (it'll probably stop as you get sub-30ish, maybe faster) then slow down and look ahead.

It's not, I thought it would take forever. It's much more easy than it looks. all those weird diagrams with pointy arrows
make it look hard to learn. don't focus on the diagrams focus on the algs.
I used to, and still do, find the number of cases to be high. PLL is fine, although I can't remember what it was like learning it. OLL is too many... and you don't even need them with ZZ. I can't decide between ZZ and CFOP at the moment, but as I'm beginning to like bigcubes more I think full OLL would be useful to learn anyway.
Also, the daunting thing about OLL can be ignored, because 2-look with a few easy 1-look cases is fast enough. I'm even sub-25 with the LBL and 4lLL, which shows how you don't need to be close to learning full CFOP to be fast. But it definitely helps.
