New to cubing

... Don't force him to only solve with white.
Fair enough mate, as long as someone knows their colour scheme well.:) I remember back when I first started solving, the colours seemed a bit of a blur, but white stood out enough to help me develop my "cube geography." Many of us started out that way and need to respect everyone's developmental needs.

I'm not as sure about color neutral as I was a day ago; Mephisto's site explained it well, in that its a bit of work for only one or two less moves in solving the cross. I thought it would be neat to know in case I got my hands on an odd colored cube but I might skip it for now.
I am doing cross on bottom though, and I can solve F2L in five minutes :}

Thanks again for all the tips!

Edit: tried again and can usually f2l under 4 mins, and the mistakes are SPECTACULAR :D

Greetings!
I started with Heise's beginners and transitioned into the actual Heise method. It's a great method for really understanding how the cube works and I suggest, instead of being fast with it, use it to simply get to know the cube. I use Roux now and blockbuilding comes easy thanks to Heise.

Got my cubes today! First I lubix'd my storebought. Its slicker for sure, although I might have overdone it a bit.
The F3 is really wild. Seems almost too much for me, but I'm getting used to it. No lube today, its fast enough.

What confuses me now is two look PLL. I've been trying to do it for an hour and something always messes me up. I don't get how you can always unscrew corners with e-perm and CW corners. Like right now I have two broken corners across each other. Can you really just switch them around forever and it eventually lines up?

Can't imagine how you all remember this stuff!! :))

You will learn that by experience. Though I'm wondering why you use e perm instead of y perm.

Do CW with the solved corners at the back of the cube and unsolved corners facing you.

Thank you, somehow I got it finished with eperm and corner cycle :) I didn't do y perm only because it isn't on Mephisto's sheet for 2 look PLL...

If you have troubles with the E-perm you can also do an A-perm (the corner cycle) on the case where you do not have "headlights".
The A-perm will give youa case with headlights.

Hey gang,
After a few days of unhealthy cube obsession I was able to solve from memory and have been doing so for around a week. Right now I solve F2L then do some OLL to get the top put together then do sexy method for endgame. I can do that in a couple minutes. I want to get that a bit faster, then maybe learn CFOP, but at least for now I can solve! Wheee :)

Congratulation Slowsolving!

As a next step you may want to consider getting rid of the sexy move endgame.
Have a look at the last layer of Badmephisto's beginner method.

Once you get comfortable with that you could move on to 2 look PLL and from there who knows ;)
