I was thinking the other day about how we use the 3x3, and not the 2x2, for the last solves on every cube, except 2x2(excluding beginner methods). Then, I was timing the steps in my solve and found that my cross usually takes 3 seconds. After that, I started to figure out why my cross was so bad. This is when I though of this idea. When you create the cross you only put the edges on the D layer correctly orriented, without worrying about permutation. Then you solve the F2L and OLL normally, and finish it off with a D AND U permutation. Here is an example solve:
Scramble on D: D B F' L' B F' U B2 D2 F L' D2 U B' L' B' U2 B2 F' L' U2 F' U' B R
Cross: y L2 F' U' R' F
F2L 1: y R' U' R2 U R'
F2L 2: U R' U R d L' U L
F2L 3: U R U' R' d' R' U R
F2L 4: d' L U L' U L U2 L' U2 L U L'
OLL: y' r U2 R' U' R U' r'
Permutation(using the Cube Explorer optimal algorithm): U B' F2 F' D R2 B U' B L2 U B' U2

P.S. I could not find a way to upload my other method onto my site so PM me if you want those algorithms.
