I've been learning OCLL for Megaminx, and I couldn't find any standard naming system. So I've devised my own system. It's based on a two part concept, where a combination of two OCLL names or Adj/Diag makes the names of the case. The details are below:
3 Corners Oriented
For the four cases where three corners are oriented, the system is as follows:
First part: Adj/Diag - The first part of the name is either Adj or Diag, depending on the arrangement of the oriented corners. If all three corners are adjacent, then it's Adj. If one of the corners is "opposite"(not adjacent), then it's Diag.
Second part: OCLL - The second part of the name is either T or U, referring to the OCLLs. If the two misoriented corners are both facing the same direction, then it's U(because the U case has headlights). If the two misoriented corners are facing away to each other, then it's T(because the T case has corners facing in the opposite direction)
2 Corners Oriented
For the four cases where two corners are oriented, the system is as follows:
First part: Adj-Diag - The first part works the same as the 3CO cases, depending on whether the two corners are adjacent or "opposite".
Second part: OCLL - The second part of the name is either S or AS, standing for Sune and Antisune. To determine whether it is S or AS, you look at the pattern of the three misoriented corners. If they have a sticker pattern like a Sune, then it's an S case. If they have a pattern similar to an Antisune, it's an AS case.
1 Corner Oriented
For the six cases where two corners are oriented, the system is as follows:
This system is based on each letter representing something notable about an OCLL. The letters are defined as follows:
T - Two corners attached to the same layer facing opposite directions (referencing the arrangement of the misoriented corners on the T OCLL)
H - Two corners attached to the same layer are facing the same direction. Often called headlights (the H OCLL has two sets of headlights)
U - Two corners attached to different layers facing the same direction. Similar to H case, except there's another corner between the two (the U OCLL's misoriented corners are headlights)
You look for one of these features. The letters are arranged with the case on the back or left as the first letter, and the case on the front or right as the second letter.
0 Corners Oriented
For the two cases where two corners are oriented, the system is as follows:
This system is similar to the 1CO cases. Both cases both have H for the first letter, and the final three stickers either are in a Sune pattern or an Antisune pattern. If the three stickers have a Sune pattern, the second letter is S. If they have an Antisune pattern, the second letter(s) is AS
NOTE: For the 1CO cases, there are two H-T cases. If the headlights(H) are on the back/left face, it's an H-T [BL]. If they're on the left face, it's an H-T [L]
So there you have it! I made a Megaminx OCLL doc with my naming system, which can be found here. I'd be happy to hear what everyone else thinks
