Hello..I'm new here!
Just thought I'll intro myself a bit.

Call me Oliver. I'm from Singapore.
I've been cubing for about 1 month or so now.

3x3 Personal Best: 1 min 18.10 secs
Method: Vanilla Layer By Layer Method

Hmm my average is around 1 min 40 secs I guess.

I can solve 2x2 too, but my cube's a cheapo and its stuck, so I never bothered timing myself.

4x4 and 5x5, I'm totally hopeless at it.

I don't know how you people solve in sub-1 min at all, even after lubricating my cube.

I got a question. Would it be more advisable to learn a faster method (e.g. Fridrich, Petrus, Roux etc.), or can I just jump straight into blindsolving?

Thats for now. Hope to learn a thing or two from you people! :)

Hi Oliver, welcome to the forum.

I remember when I had been cubing for a month, I found it unbelievable to reach sub-2min. But it is possible and you will get there soon with just a little training.

I would recommend learning friedrich F2L. It comes to you very fast because you don't have to learn long algorithms.

Hey!
Welcome to the forum! You could jump right into BLD solving if you would like. Blindsolving is very different form normal solving and only uses a few algorithms.
It is very beneficial to learn Fridrich F2L it is easy to learn but tricky to get fast at it. Look into a basic 4 look last layer then move on from there.

Practise a lot, and you will find, as you get to learn the algorithms better, your times will jump down in blocks of around 10 seconds, you will be sub-40 in no time :)
