New guy

I'm actually not that new. I've been cubing for a few years. I live in Chicago, attending the University of Chicago. If anyone here is on campus, we should meet up. I feel like the only cuber here. anyway, as to my skill level, I was recently in the Chicago Open and I placed 10th with an average of 17.4 in 3x3 speedsolve.

general averages tend to fall around 19-20 seconds, but they've gotten faster with the new cube

What kind of new cube are you using?

and dnag, usually when someone says they are new they aren't already sub20!

Do you use CFOP? If so 2LOLL? just random curious questions =)

and yes, i do use CFOP, with 1 look OLL (took me forever to memorize all of them)
and i was too shy to introduce myself before i got sub20

wow 1 Look OLL? I feels so noobish now. How fast were you before you learned 1LOLL? I'm about 5 seconds slower than you on average, so thats why I ask.

well, before 1 look OLL, i think i was about 25-26 seconds, and i hit about the 20 range when i learned it...after that, i was learning to look ahead in the F2L and make a more efficient cross until i got to sub20
