Need Advice, how to judge a cube?

Hmm, if your looking for a cube that you want for PRACTICE on, I would recommend a "bad" cube like one that is hard to turn, locks up a lot, no corner cutting, etc. That is good for practice. Try to pick a cube opposite of your practice cube for competitions/videoing/taking averages to see how fast you are.

I think there's no point judging a cube by smoothness, speed, etc. It is most important that you try out the cube yourself to see if you like it or not. That's why there are so many cubes out there, because one cube can't always satisfy everyone's preferance. Many "pro" cubers have more than 10 3x3 because it's the only way to find the right cube for you.

It's like choosing a musical instrument. You cannot judge a violin simply by the label or the country of origin, you must try for yourself in order to find the one for you.
(though the only difference is that since it is a very expensive commodity, you can't really choose by "trial and error" like you could when you are starting out on cubing. Also there are a lot of scams on this market.)

REMEMBER! don't depend only on others' opinions to find the right cube for you. You must try it for yourself.
