I've watched the video over and over and over again and I can swear that it is a 7 move solution.

There's probably something I'm missing here, was it disqualified because it was misscrambled? Or am I just making myself look like a noob?

Yes : disqualified because of misscramble, did 7 moves but can be canceled to 6 :/

I believe I have never gotten a 3 move 2x2 scramble, and for those who don't know, I do 2x2 a LOT.

I have it was a 0.34. The solution was R2 U.
