I was just recalling the results of the Van Open 09 and how Ibrahim won by such a narrow margin. Just wondering if anyone remembers (or can link to) another competition with a very close podium. Anything closer than .02 seconds?

Just some examples.

Remember in case of equal average, the best single counts. Here's a tough case:

Or this (apparently we didn't have that rule back then):

Oh and here's the SQL code in case someone wants to try more:
Code:
select winner.competitionId, winner.eventId, winner.average winner, loser.average loser, winner.best, loser.best, loser.best-winner.best
from (select competitionId, eventId, average, best from Results where pos=1 and roundId in ('c','f') and average>0) winner,
(select competitionId, eventId, average, best from Results where pos=2 and roundId in ('c','f') and average>0) loser
where winner.competitionId = loser.competitionId
  and winner.eventId = loser.eventId
order by loser.average-winner.average, loser.best-winner.best
Code:
select competitionId, eventId, count(*) x
from Results where pos=1 and roundId in ('c','f') and average>0
group by competitionId, eventId
order by x

Nope I just think the rule got added later.
I was just happy that I tied Ooms who taught me how to solve a magic 6 months earlier. The bad part was that we both missed the WR by 0.01.
