Congratulations!!! Wow, is the cube really almost as big as his head or is it just the angle?
Congratulations Adam! After hearing you talk about your wife's pregnancy during some messaging a couple of months ago, it is awesome to hear that he has been delivered. Have fun being a father![]()
I am sooooooo happy to announce that my son Gavin William was born on 11/11/14 at 8:14pm 6lbs. 9oz. The greatest joy I have ever felt in my entire life. I cannot wait to see this little man grow and get faster than his dad ever could!

Of course I'm not going to force the hobby onto him. Being his own person will always be the most important thing to me and I will support whatever he wants to be or do.stuff
thanks, I'll have plenty of time to get faster myself before he is even old enough to learn (IF he wants)Congratulations! The kids ALWAYS end up faster than the parents, but you'll have several years before he's faster than you so enjoy them!
Haha, yeah its a family name. My middle name, my dads middle name, my grandfather's actual name, and his fathers actual nameOh dear you didn't condemn your kid to a life with a name like "William" did you?Poor thing, I feel his pain.
That's pretty rude, it's a common name, and I like it.Oh dear you didn't condemn your kid to a life with a name like "William" did you?Poor thing, I feel his pain.
I think the only reason he said that is because he's on speedsolving forum, and throwing in a little cubing related joke bridges the gap between a cubing forum and something related to personal life. I didn't get the impression he was trying to choose anything for him.Congrats.
But really, with all do respect: You shouldn't choose what your kid should do as a hobby. Let him choose what he wants. It's fine if you make him involved in it (Ex. solve around him) and maybe he'll want to learn how to solve one. But if he doesn't, just accept that he'll want another hobby.
I'm not saying you are forcing his hobby, or that you will, and I'm not saying I'm a father either, but if you really want your kid to have his hobby that he enjoys the most, let him pick.
And if he does grow up to be a speed cuber: I'll be fun.
