I've been cubing for about a week now, and i am finally in the 1:10-25 era. I successfully learned the full Beginner's Method in about two day's. I practiced the Beginner's Method for about a day, and was averaging about 1:55 each solve. I have been watching badmephisto's video's ever since. I learned the Intuitive F2L Method in about 2 hour's, and have been practicing since. I still have a few mess up's here and there, but all is good. Im learning the 2LookOLL, and the 2LookPLL's right now. I was wondering if anyone you guy's have any suggestion's on anything else i need to know. Also, i was wondering if there is a faster way of learning for example the OLL's, and the PLL's alot faster.

Thanks, too all..

its good to see that your moving so quickly, but cubing takes practice. the best way to get faster is just to keep practicing. you pretty much got everything you need to know for right now though. once you get at about a 45 second average i would recommend looking into full oll and pll (learn full pll first) and maybe get a little more advanced with F2L. but for right now, i think you should keep concentrating on learning 2 look oll and pll

mcciff2112, thanks for the reply, and yeah thats what i figured. Stick with the 2LookOLL, and PLL; then get a little bit better F2L. Also, to learn all the algorithm's is it best to just go down the list and do them on an all ready solved cube, and then keep doing it, and doing it until i get it down?

I'd recommend learning some F2L algs. The whole point of F2L is to minimize the number of moves and cut down as much time as possible. Intuitive F2L doesn't really work that well for some weird cases compared algorithms. I'd recommend cutting down as much recognition time as possible on the F2L stage as you can and learning algs for tough F2L cases before going to deep in the LL. Without the basic look-ahead procedure built, your transition from 2look OLL to 2look PLL is going to be very awkward (same applies to 2 look LL). Besides, F2L is going to cut your time a lot more than learning 2 look OLL and PLL. I got down to sub 30 from 1 minute when I learned F2L (I used 4 look LL), and I got down from sub 30 to sub 23ish when I used 3 look LL. Last Layer isn't the main part of cutting down time, F2L is.

yeah, i concur with the others - the only way you're gonna get faster is if you solve, solve, solve!

I'm jealous of newbies, you drop like 10% off your times every other day :p
couple of extra things...

Last Layer
- For PLL, learn H + Z (you could learn these together - very similar), both Us, the Y perm (its not hard to learn once you realise its just two OLLs), the two A perms, and the E perm (using the two look OLLs, try and work out what two go together to make the E perm). If you already know one A perm, try and work out the other by doing the one you know in reverse.

- For OLL, there are only two that you could/should struggle with - 'bow-tie' and 'headlights'.
The others are easier than you'd think - 'Pi' is just taking out the FR and BR pairs, 'double sune' is, well, two sunes, with cancellations (or the repeat of one trigger 3 times), 'chameleon' is just RUR'U' - R'FRF', just the first R is a wide turn on both triggers, and sune and anti sune are the easiest OLLs :)

F2L
- do a little bit of work on making your cross as 'cleverly' as possible - i.e. in as few moves as possible. you should be around 7 or 8 on average.
- like jhong said, learn some algorithms, but if i were you, i'd say leave them until after you are a four looker. Whatever you think is best for you.
- work on recognising f2l cases, and looking ahead. You could possibly try and do them from other angles, too.

Honestly, you will be shocked at how fast you progress over the next few weeks, now you've started on the road of f2l and 4 look LL... If you want a little practice on looking ahead, try going back to layer by layer for a couple of solves, and track corner and edge pieces, so that your f2l is seamless. This, & pretty much any sort of cubing at all (going as fast as possible, going as smooth as possible), will really help you get faster. good luck :)
