yeah, i concur with the others - the only way you're gonna get faster is if you solve, solve, solve!
I'm jealous of newbies, you drop like 10% off your times every other day

couple of extra things...
Last Layer
- For PLL, learn H + Z (you could learn these together - very similar), both Us, the Y perm (its not hard to learn once you realise its just two OLLs), the two A perms, and the E perm (using the two look OLLs, try and work out what two go together to make the E perm). If you already know one A perm, try and work out the other by doing the one you know in reverse.
- For OLL, there are only two that you could/should struggle with - 'bow-tie' and 'headlights'.
The others are easier than you'd think - 'Pi' is just taking out the FR and BR pairs, 'double sune' is, well, two sunes, with cancellations (or the repeat of one trigger 3 times), 'chameleon' is just RUR'U' - R'FRF', just the first R is a wide turn on both triggers, and sune and anti sune are the easiest OLLs
F2L
- do a little bit of work on making your cross as 'cleverly' as possible - i.e. in as few moves as possible. you should be around 7 or 8 on average.
- like jhong said, learn some algorithms, but if i were you, i'd say leave them until after you are a four looker. Whatever you think is best for you.
- work on recognising f2l cases, and looking ahead. You could possibly try and do them from other angles, too.
Honestly, you will be shocked at how fast you progress over the next few weeks, now you've started on the road of f2l and 4 look LL... If you want a little practice on looking ahead, try going back to layer by layer for a couple of solves, and track corner and edge pieces, so that your f2l is seamless. This, & pretty much any sort of cubing at all (going as fast as possible, going as smooth as possible), will really help you get faster. good luck
