My new method

I think keyhole is only a... sort of technique, not really a method. I wouldn't use that exclusivly, even my limited knowledge of f2l (started learning yesterday night :D) allows me to be a bit faster. And the last corner is pretty slow.

I definitely consider keyhole a method. This is how I solve the F2L:
1. Get 4 cross pieces in good position relatively to each other (no need to align with the centers)
2. Insert 3 corners (about 12 moves on average)
3. Insert 3 edges (about 11 moves on average)
4. Insert 4th edge correct or misoriented (about 2 moves on average)
5. Insert 4th corner (about 8 moves on average using 1 of 11 algs)
6. Correct D-layer (0.75 moves on average)
That means 33 moves for keyhole F2L compared to about 28 (4*7) for Fridrich (without cross)

Keyhole is much easier because you only have to find 1 piece at the same time and it requires less algs/intuition.

The reason that Fridrich F2L is so much faster is because D-moves are pretty slow (you use a lot of D-moves with keyhole) and because you have many more cube-rotations when using keyhole.
