I hope you (or anybody else) can help me. I have a similar problem though I only confuse red and green. The problem is that my cross is blue, so my top layer is green, and when in F2L i sometimes put in the green-yellow edge instead of the red-yellow edge. Also in OLL i sometimes get confused. I was thinking in changing green to black, but i have no black stickers and I was wondering if changing to the japanase color scheme would be ok.

There you can order different colors of stickers and tiles.

I'm not sure if changing colorscheme would help as you might get orientation wrong then.
