My humble progression

UPDATE: I haven't had much time to cube due to a very bad case of business and sleep deprivation. However, I have started to cube again, and I will make my best efforts to get a sub-20 average by the end of this month.

Regrettably, my chances of achieving such a goal have lowered significantly because of the aforementioned business, but said business is more important than speedcubing.

Man, I feel like crap right now since I've basically been cubing for a month longer and have yet to break sub-20 SINGLE barrier, let alone average...

Come to think of it, I've yet to break sub-25 average.... ARGHH...

Way to go kid, keep kicking my ass in something I should have been good at my entire life (and started when I was in grade 6...)

ALMOST sub-20. :( .22 seconds away... :(

I'M GETTING CLOSE! Escher, prepare to eat your monitor!

That's looking good! I spent months stuck at the 19-20 boundary and only recently broke it, but the consistency of your times looks promising :)

Make sure you iron out times like the 25.23 :P

Let's see.. I started a few days before him... At the same stuff as him (3LLL), and get 50 second averages. LUCKY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jeez.... Everywhere I go it's people who started near me and are 30> seconds faster than me. Sigh.

Great job though, incredible progression. Cannot wait for the sub-20.
Good luck.

Well, I think he focused on F2L more than on whatever you're focusing on, and he probably practiced more... I've been cubing for 2 years, the first was all intuitive solving... sigh... the headaches...

That's some pretty fast progression, I, personally, have to break the sub-30 average barrier but I'm close...

Good, luck...

Yes, I primarily practice F2L. However, I have been distracted lately by OLLs and PLLs and my times have stagnated. I will continue to focus on F2L and that will probably help me break the 20s barrier by the end of this month. I just filmed myself doing an average of 12 and I found that I pause too much during F2L. However, whenever I get a sub-11 or sub-12 cross+F2L, I always seem to get a sub-20 solve.

Moral of the story: F2L is the most important step.

PS I still haven't learned full OLL. I'm going to take a look at the ones I still need to learn and plan out my schedule for these algorithms. I seriously think PLLs are more important, though. :/

Wait, so you DON'T know all 21 PLLs?? -- I say learn the 21 PLLs first, since those are the concepts you need to master before even thinking about farther than 2-look OLL...

I'd then learn some special cases for F2L since even the hardest ones take me about 2s per pair...

if you're able to pre-inspect/solve cross and one pair in inspection, I'd say you have a week before breaking sub-20...

I'm almost sub-25 (got a 26.90 AVERAGE!!!! with a 22.59 in there XD), and I know for a fact I still pause for about 5 seconds, finding all 4 pairs at once and tracking them as I solve (it makes the overall solve faster, but the fact that I pause at ALL is seriously hindering my progress towards sub-20).

I know 18 PLLs because I HATE the E-perm and I forgot the two N-perms (I dislike them as well because they get in the way of my J-perms, which I like much better for some reason).

That's a cool idea for F2L actually, because you're training yourself to track multiple pieces at once! Sure, you waste 4 seconds, but it's great practice for the future...

byu: You probably practice more, though. :p 15 seconds average already? Amazing.
