My first voyage into the speedsolving forum

Hey guys my name is matt (obviously) and i have been speedcubing for about a year now. I use fridrich with ELS sometimes, and i average around 14 seconds on a good day, although my main event is 2x2 (CLL). My other interests are photos of weird things and the pillsbury doughboy. I decided to join this forum as I should probably get more involved in the community - The only contributions I have made so far are:
that I think i have a twist the web account (if i do, i haven't used it) and i have failed at facilitating FMC USA 2014 for colorado. I also have a youtube account called coloradocuber.
I am super excited to get involved in this community and help grow the sport (is it a sport???) of speedcubing.

Haha i figured that would grab your attention! I typically just do the last pair 2-gen to preserve the edges, but I am planning on dedicating a large period of time to learning CLS and at that point i'll use MGLS instead of regular CFOP

I'm also in Colorado, though I'm in between Denver and Colorado Springs in Castle Rock.

Welcome, I am surprised that you have been cubing for so long and not joined up yet. I too am in Colorado just outside of Denver. Too bad on the FMC thing. AJ told me that he was trying to get that going a few months ago also. Not a huge deal to me as I don't do FMC (yet) but its good to hear about people wanting to organize something local. I look forward to our next Colorado comp! Enjoy the forums and there is a Colorado cubers subgroup (not very active. most stuff takes place on the FB page). Send something out if you want to meet up.

nice to meet you! I actually have close family in castle rock, but they are moving in with us because they had a bit of financial trouble. I do know the area pretty well though, I used to go there frequently. Glad to meet other people from CO!

Nice to meet you! I have waited for a while to join since for the longest time I didn't really understand the way the community functioned..! But yeah, I was working with Daniel to get it going, and our school administration actually approved of the event but we had missed the deadline to be added to the competition. I think it would be great to get a competition or at least a cube meet between the fb group going.
