What age did you learn at? and how long till you got to sub 18?

1985: Sticky store-bought cube, I'm 13 yrs old, takes about 1 week to solve.
1986: Beginner's method learned from a book. About 1:30 pb.
Mar 2015: My nine-year old son get obsessed and teaches himself beginner's method from an online source. I can't solve it at all anymore, so I re-learn beginner's method and solve in about 1:40
Apr 2015: Learn Adv Cross, F2L, 4LLL, best 42 sec
May 2015: 10,000 solves later, pb 29, pb ao5 39, pb ao12 41
