Hi.

I used to be a casual cuber for the past 4 years, on and off. After plateauing at around 19 seconds with CFOP, I was disappointed and quit cubing. However, I came back and wish to smash all my PBs in 3x3 and 3 blind, and maybe OH.

This thread is to track my progress and motivate me to go all the way. (Inspired by
My Quest to sub 8 Petrus)

2H: using CFOP
Sub-16
Learn full OLL
Improve F2L Efficiency

3 blind: M2/OP
Become more familiar with lettering scheme
Come up with letter pairs
Make execution smoother and faster

2H:
CFOP
17-18 (very inconsistent)
Cross + F2L: ~12-13
LL: ~5

3 blind:
M2/OP
3:00-4:00

Today I did an hour long session for 3x3 and learnt a few OLLs

Results:

2H:
Single 14.02, Ao5 16.55, overall mean 17.71

3 blind:
No success :(

I’ll make a Google sheet soon.
2H:
11.58 single, 14.4 Ao5

3 blind:
2:49 single, no Mo3 yet :(

Hi! Looking forward to seeing the progress :)

Day 1:
I was a bit tired today so my solves overall were not good.

I have been practicing 3x3 using Ao5s as described in this video by Kian Mansour. It has helped me to retain focus but I still had bad times overall.

I learnt a few OLLs and have been drilling them.

For 3 blind I had no success as I kept forgetting memo. So I did a few corners/edges only solves for a bit.

Results:

2H:
Single 14.02, Ao5 16.55, overall mean 17.71

3 blind:
No success :(

Just a question: is it worthwhile to become full colour neutral if I am not? I have been red/orange colour neutral for a long time and I want to be fully CN.

Day 3:
Oops I forgot yesterday.
Today I did a lot of slow solves and I attempted some longer sessions which ended with >20 seconds means overall. For some reason I got the fat antisune OLL 5 times in a row.

For blind, I was doing some corners only solves.

Day 2:
I did a decent session.
single 12, Ao5 16, overall mean around 18.5

Don’t feel the need to update very day ;)

Yes it is worth it, you will get 6 times more lucky scrambles and 6 times less unlucky scrambles. This will make you times in general more consistent and will make it much easier to plan out cross +1 in inspection.
