hmmmm... I see where you're going with this, we should all be bringing musical instruments to cubing comps from now on![]()

Pianos?

I just realised, that I can type faster after cubing![]()
I guess I'm lighter on my fingers with the Clarinet than the cube, I feel that just moving them up and down, while it may warm them up, it doesn't really feel the same as the cube. Although I will agree with the thumb part, the clarinet really strengthens your thumb. Or at least callouses it.I've notice the exact opposite on my clarinet, the clarinet just takes a different kind of micromovements that don't translate well to the cube.
Actually I'm going to have to disagree with you on that comment. I have been playing clarinet for approximately six years, and I do feel that it strengthens your thumb as well as have somewhat correct enough micromovements similar to the Cube.
Then again, it would depend on the type of player you are. I get very absorbed into my music, and maybe it's the focus and serious vibe as well as calm way that I am after I practice that causes the faster ability.
Not to mention that I dabble piano, and byu had said that piano helped him.
i play piano. but it doesnt make any difference when playing before or after or whenever.
i think it is becuase its a completely different type of motion. on piano you move the whole finger but in cubing you only use the fisrt two segments or your wrist.
i'll try playing my violin before cubing. who knows? maybe i'll be sub-30 at last.

basically, yeah. i heard some people type with on hand to strengthen their muscles for OH, not to increase dexterity. i guess it's different for every person, because there was this piano player i knew who averaged 40 sec after a day or two.
However, if you drum, it may be different. Drumming uses wrists a lot and there was this other guy who drummed and also averaged ~40 after a few days. W/E
