I think because we have 1-3 competitions a year, and every comp is a great holiday for us.
In Europe there are tens of comps in every country, and European countries compared to Russia are so small that person can easily visit competitions in different cities. So they aren't so desirable, emotional.
BTW, I had to fly about 4.5 hours, across half of our country to visit MPEI

In Australia I make videos of speedcubing meetups... but at competitions I usually don't get time to get enough footage of other people. If I made competition videos, they would be a lot more basic than yours. These videos are awesome.
