So I was wondering, from the experts: what are good move counts for centers and edges for 6x6x6 and 7x7x7?

I just tried an average of 5 on 6x6x6 centers to see how I do (solving like I would at speed), and I got this:

156, 159, (174), 161, (145) = 158.7 moves

counting a single face or wide turn as a "move". I'm pretty sure I'm pretty inefficient, but I'm wondering how inefficient - what should I be shooting for?

6x6:
132, (118), 142, (153), 153 => 142.33 moves

guess you aren't that inefficient :p

Wow, Dan, thanks - that's really helpful to know.

And I assume your 118 was a case where you saw some good optimization and took it - I generally am best off ignoring those, since too often I get killed on those solves because I try too hard to get them "right".

Anyway, it looks like it's back to what it always is for me - I just need to go faster. :) (Look ahead faster + turn faster, obviously)
