Maybe this is just me and I am having some bad luck with them, but I have purchased the mf8 v2 megaminx, and now also have the mf8 dayan jupiter crazy cube.

Both cubes were very stiff in the beginning but nothing that I cannot handle as a proper lube job does the trick. In both puzzles it did, however..

I disassembled the megaminx a while ago, down to the core, and I found big blobs and stuff on that very core part that the screws go into where I actually had to go to the attic to Dremel the excess off. Crooked screws, and very slanted inserted into the core that it was a pain at some to put back in because I was holding it straight of course. Not to mention the stickers that weren't on very straight.

I figured it would be an exception, however.. just now I disassembled the crazy and I am finding the same thing. The core was fine, the centerpieces were ok and so were the big edge and corner pieces. But the small ones! With maybe one or two exceptions ALL of them had minor to massive bits sticking out, left from the mold and they were making things catch like crazy.

And these were the smaller bits sticking out. I have had to remove a few that were twice the size. I filed them off, and then reassembled and lubed and all and all is fine, but still.. I am beginning to think of mf8 as inferior to LanLan, which is ludicrous in some way, given the price difference between the two. In my humble opinion mf8 is pulling Dayan down, as I have a few from Dayan and the quality of those is impeccable.

I mean.. it's sorted, it turns peachy now, no need to return or anything, I fixed the probs it had myself, but I was just wondering if I am the only one experiencing this with mf8 products? Or is the store the one to blame for things like this? I have no idea how stores receive products, but they DID come from the same seller.

Pieces of all kind of brands have 'molding mistakes' like on you pictures. Because they're all molded somehow :p
Mostly (!) however, these little parts are on places were they should not touch other pieces, so it doesn't really matter whether you get rid of them or not

Thanks for the proper reply Goosly! :)

It's too bad I didn't take pictures of that megaminx because it was bad. It inhibited the turning of the faces.

On this cube it did so as well, but after removing all those bits things are running very nicely now, where they hung and caught and all before that. Honestly sides got stuck and wouldn't budge.

It is not just the molding things, but the entire cube in general. Bad stickerwork, misaligned, peeling and such. A $20+ cube shouldn't arrive like that IMHO.

My MF8 V2 Megaminx didn't have any flash at all and the stickers were on fine.

It did come ridiculously tight, but that's a non issue.
