magic restring error?

So I just got a magic today and it broke, argh

Being a complete beginner to this puzzle, I tried to restring it per the youtube videos by sushibuffet, and I put it back together fine, or so I thought

but when I "solve" it, the rings are not interconnected. I guess I strung them together in the wrong orientation, but I wanted to make sure before I take it apart again.

How should they be oriented? I just made it so there are three rings not connected and they have colors aligned.... sigh

Start with the magic image rotated 180 degrees from what you're used to. If that doesn't work, pictures would be useful for us.
