What do you guys do when you lubricate your cubes? How do you spray them? Do you clean them first? I want my cube to have minimum resistance. Share your secrets!

Oh Yeah, I'm new on here!!

Can you guys help me? I want it to move faster. My lubricant is sticky, then it sets in later. How can I make it really fast? Its a store bought cube. not a DIY. Can I lossen it somehow?

it takes more than 37 minutes to get an answer you know :)
basically what i do:
dissasamble cube, spread out all pieces evenly on flat surface, use silicon spray to spray each side of each piece (leave center piece unlubricated)
Then let dry for like hour or something, come back, re-assemble, use.

your lubricant should not be sticky. Hopefully you are using silicon spray. I found vegetable oil worked ok as well, but i found it dries out fast

Welcome to the forum!
Please use the search function and look around he forum before you post.
All lube is sticky and then dries later. If you read the post "CRC Lube" you can see the types of lube people use my crc takes less time to dry.
Yes you can loosen it! You do that by simply solving it over and over and over. I played with my friends cube for an hour and it was noticeably looser afterwards.
EDIT: Oh, sometimes I clean it if it feels really bad but most of the time I just pop an edge piece, spray it in and turn the sides.

I use the cube lube from puzzlepros (idk if I wrote that word wrong) you'll get that free if you buy 2 diy kit, but if you don't want those cubes you can buy one lube single. The explanation of how to ues it is also there.

vegetable oil ????

A kid at pleasantville was using vasoline...*shudders*.
It didn't look too good inside.

Yeah, I took mine appart last night, sprayed the pieces seperately, and it works better. There is another problem now though. My cubesmith stickers started to curl and peel off. Why is that? Can I make them stick again? They're only a couple of months old. There was some time where I stopped solving too.

I use Cube Lube - it's a liquid silicone sold at www.cubelube.com. It's the same product that's sold in individual syringes at www.rubiks.com, but comes in 2, 4, and 8 oz. bottles, so it's much cheaper, and it's shipped out of the United States so it comes much faster.

It's very easy to apply and works like a dream.

One caveat: Any lubrication product will compromise paper stickers - whether it be oil, silicone spray or liquid silicone - so take care to protect your stickers unless you're planning on swapping them out anyway.
