Lubricating my Gans 356 Air Um

So I have recently got a Gans 356 Air UM and I have been confused on lubrications. I ordered along with the cube, the Gans magic lubricant. I read in the instructions and it stated that in daily usage, you must lubricate the cube before it becomes dry. It said to drop 1-2 drops of the lubricant into the from then gap into the cube. I began looking up how to lubricate your speed cube and videos came up showing people thoroughly lubricating the cube and doing it every 2 months. I would just like some clarification on whether to do months wait for lubricating the cube, or daily but only 1-2 drops. Additionally, it stated in the gans video description to thoroughly wash your cube before lubricating again, but in the instructions it said to only wash the cube if your are using a different lubrication than the one you used previously. If anyone can help me that would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I am new to this forum and I believe this is the correct section to put my question in. If not, please tell me what the correct section is and I will remove this thread. Thank you.

This is the hardware section, and lube is a part of hardware, we even have a sticky thread all about lube

Basically, you disassemble your cube first, then you wipe off all the dirt and lube inside (usually black), and that stuff slows your cube down.

There's not much of a problem with mixing different lubes, many people do that all the time. It's just a problem of mixing lube with the dirt inside the cube. That makes lubing kinda pointless

If your cube is dry, the plastic will wear out faster and your cube will be worn out way quicker. Lubing ensures that the plastic pieces don't scrape each other, and makes the cube smoother and faster.

You just need to set up your cube whenever it feels dry or slows down a lot.

After you clean your pieces (by wiping them with tissues or cloths), you assemble your cube, and pull apart the L and R face so there's a wider gap between pieces. Then you drop your lube in, do a few solves to spread the lube around, and you're done :)

This is well said.
Also, you don’t have to listen to the video. If the GAN lube is all you have, then put more than 1-2 drops. Put 4-5 every time.

Thank you both for your help, one more quick question, is it easy to disassemble and reassemble your cube without it breaking at least? I am fairly new to speed cubes, sorry.

Yes. Pop off a center cap and unscrew the center. All of the pieces should come out easily.

The faster, but slightly (not really if you know how) less cube friendly way to disassemble a cube, the way that most people do, is to turn a layer 45 degrees and literally pull out the edge piece with your hand.
People have broken their cube doing it this way but it's quite rare.
