Hallo,

Ive got some decent silicone spray, it does wonders on my DIY's but it doesnt do crap on my rubiks brand cube. Anyway i was just wondering how often you guys relube your cube, as for me it seems maybe once or month or something, for my regularly used DIY cubes(daily usage).

cheers

I relube about every 4-6 weeks. Man Arnaud you are lucky that you get to go to a competition every six weeks and maybe even less. I havent even been to one, I waiting for one in the PA,NJ, NY area.

ah well, i see its around the same time for everyone, but if it makes a difference i lube by spraying inside the cube after popping one peice out, instead of spraying all peices of the cube.

What does that have to do with luck? There have been 25 competitions so far this year so it is very lickely that one was "near" you. The one that was "nearest" to me was about 2 hours away (Belgium), but I also flew to the US to participate over there and drove 10 hours to get to the Czech Open. By combining those tournaments with my vacations I "save" on travelling expenses :)

Not really on topic but man I used my friends lube that he got at walmart for a little more than a dollar and man it is crazy... I don't know if I will be able to cube anymore there is absolutely no friction in my cube... and it had been lubed already with more expensive lube from Lowe's...
more on topic, i relube whenever I feel like the cube needs lube lol... I don't really keep track and haven't been cubing for more than like 4 months... but i've relubed a lot in that time. every two weeks or so.

About 10 days before a competition, and whenever I feel like it at home. I've only been to 3 competitions. And I forgot to lube my cube before one of them, and it did not go well. See Florida Open. D'oh.

You're lucky you get to go to comp's at all - I dont think there has ever been one in good old Australia.
