First off, Hi, first poster here :)

I've been thinking of getting some cubes from cube4you.com but am kinda lost as to which types to get. I hear the feel from the type A and D cubes are the best so I was thinking I'd try those. But apparently there's 3 different type A cubes, and, I've heard that the recent type D cubes really suck. I was also thinking of getting one of those transparent type B cubes just for the novelty as well. All I've been using so far are the rubik's brand cubes (I have two well broken in ones), so I have no idea what any of the DIY cubes are like.

Any help differentiating between all these different types of cubes would be appriciated, as would any recommendations.

Type D's are horrible, they suck, especially if you don't have lube. Main problem is that the Screws loosen themselves and it's deficult to fix, also, they lock up and I do not like the feeling of them.
Use type A if you do not have lube.
Type C if you do.

I'm just going to get one each of A-I, B, C, and D then mess around with them to see which I like. That sound good? I don't suppose the colour makes any difference?

I agree. I used to like my type D but because it was super smooth and glided perfectly. Now it looks up too much and the pieces get caught on each other. I'm considering whether I should get a rubiks.com diy.
