Hi!

I'm sorry if there already is athread for this topic, but I haven't checked this forum for so long.

I have a goal to be able to average sub-20 before the european championship in September, and that made me think about what I need to improve, so I decided to take a rolling average of 12 for OH-LL to see how big part of the total solving time I spent on LL. The best average I got was:

Average: 08.69 seconds
Individual Times: (07.28), 09.28, 10.09, 09.00, 08.55, 08.42, 07.56, 08.16, (11.84), 10.28, 07.94, 07.62

I was actually quite surprised that I was that fast since the feeling I have is that LL is my weaker part in OH solving. For comparison, my average record for the whole cube is 22.46.

So, to my questions. What are your times for LL (and F2L) one-handed? Is my LL good enough and is it F2L I need to work on?

I'm not sure about my LL times, but I guess you're faster than me...some of my PLLs are over 4 seconds :D

Just did an average
Average: 09.33 segundos
Individual Times: 07.85, (13.25), 09.69, 06.92, 08.94, 11.31, 10.17, (06.57), 11.48, 08.74, 10.33, 07.92

The fastest was sune+G perm...the slowest was sloooooooooooow :D

Quite a few of my OLLs and PLLs take more than 4 seconds, it's just a matter of getting good cases in an average. This 8.69 avg I got after 20-25 solves. The first twelve solves averaged like 9.7s since I got almost all my worst cases in that average. I'd say my average average is more like 9-9.5s.

Good luck on getting sub-20! :-)
I just got my first full average sub-20 and I'm really really hoping to do it this Saturday at Stetson :-)
I have not taken an average of LL times before but I have for F2L and it is around 12.5s so maybe F2L is what you need to work on?

well, I think actually some of my LL algs are over 5 secs...I've already printed Tomy's algs, and learned a few of them, but I need to get to it seriously

Well I'm hardly one to give advice here, but I would recommend getting every OLL and PLL sub4. Sub9 LL is probably optimal. Otherwise F2L is all you can really work on.

I think you're mostly right. I need to cut of 2 seconds or so from my F2L in some way. I think I can also get my LL average down to 8 seconds flat if I exchange some algs for ones more fitted for OH solving.

Well, I'm allowing a total of 1 second for recognition of OLL and PLL. Of course, for me personally this must be at least 4-5 seconds in reality, as my last layer (2H) is about 9 seconds, whereas my algorithms are 2-3 seconds !!!!
