Hi all,

I just got a Chinese-made megaminx, which doesn't seem to have a brand. it is already lubricated, turns pretty well, and snaps into place very neatly after each turn. However, my only difficulty is that it is so loose, that every three turns or so the side will jam at a certain spot, and all of the other pieces on that face will separate, so that if I kept pushing they would just pop out. What will solve this, tightening the screws or loosening? Also, if anyone has any recommendations on how to adjust the screws, or can recommend a website, that would be great cause I have never done it.

break it in. I have tried sanding and it didn't work. I couldn't really find the problem, though. I think it might have something to do with the edges of the corner pieces, but I accidentally lost a piece so I can't test it.

Best bet is to break it in. Or if you want you can just buy a meffert's or pvc or something.

If you get lots of pops, and even pops of a whole face including the center, that means the screws of your chinaminx are too loose. Just tighten them and the problem will be solved.
My megaminx was like that at the very beginning too, and some of my friends have had the exact same problem. It seems to be common with new chinaminxes...

Practice using it. Not only will this break it in, but it will help you get used to it. Play with it during a movie or something. Hope it doesn't pop.

Thanks guys. It seems to be getting a little better already, if it persists I might tighten a little.
