Wouldn't you have thought, someone who invented the method, would also be the fastest at it, knowing all the algorythms for it? haha mental isnt it Shotaro averages alot faster than her and hes been doing it for not half as long, and shes the inventor :o What does everyone else think?

She herself has said that she doesn't practice as much as she used to- and she is getting old so I don't blame her. We're all young and have all the time on our hands and the dedication, stil, to practice hours on end- which is why we are faster.

Once you memorize everything, which is daunting but simply takes time, Fridrich is an extremely mechanical method, so it has a lot to do simply with natural turning speed ability, which might not be her forte. It is less surprising than Petrus not being the best at his method, but again you have to factor in natural talent as well as practice time availability.

No suprising at all. When you have all kinds of people working toward the same thing, there is a tendency that there will be more than 1 "best" or other people who have more time will do better. Look at Erno Rubik, he invented the cube, is he the best? He invented it and know exactly how it works, and which moves are possible, should he be best?

lol, yeah, I've been wondering about that for sometime. I know he isn't the best most likely but is he also slow? I want to see him solve the cube.

Erno can solve the cube, but never tried speedsolving it. He is probably somewhere in the 3 minute area

Jessica invented the method in a time where algs were not optimal (no cube explorer/acube), cubes were not as good as the DIY we have now and internet didn't exist for sharing information. She could do 17/18 on average back than. I think that is equivalent to 15 seconds right now on average. This his only been reached 4 years ago by Macky (here)
