Hi folks!
I'm Bank, from Thailand but currently live in Manchester, UK. I just got back into speedcubing last April after stopping for over 7 years. Considering I first started in 2008, I can't believe that I never joined this site!
Before I went missing, I would say I was quite decent - averaging around:
3x3 - 14 s
OH - 28 s
2x2 - 5 s
Pyraminx - 8 s
These past few months, I have been trying to get back to the level I was at. Surprisingly though, it is not as hard as I thought it would be. This is mostly because the cube hardware has become sooooo much better than back then. I love magnetic cubes! What a great idea! And I'm glad stickerless cubes are now the norm. I hate replacing the stickers on my old cubes for comps. Also, things in the community have changed a lot during my absence and it has been a lot of fun to discover new people, new records, new puzzles, etc. I feel like a child again. Man, you have no idea how much I've missed it.
Since May, I have participated in 3 comps so far and I think I am doing pretty well, all things considered. I finally learnt how to solve a clock and became good enough for 2nd in Thailand at one point (easily the highest rank I have achieved in my cubing career). And, with some luck, I got a 5.62 average for pyraminx, putting me at 8th in the country. These few achievements have made me motivated to continue practising, and I think I will never stop again!
Anyway, thanks for reading my rambling
Happy cubing!
