should I keep trying?

BM's is sooo much more complicated and I'm having trouble grasping it

I can solve it with DB's in ~4 mins

try using bad's tutorial when u can solve it in 2 mins or under

also u should keep trying, i tried my best and learned 2 look OLL/PLL in a day
then i moved on to F2L and i learned that in a day as well
i can solve it in 40 seconds using badphistos tutorial

Make the switch and don't look back. I think badmephisto's beginners method isn't all that different, just not done in a silly way and you won't end up with vasoline in your cube. Dan browns method was never a good beginners method to me.

I assume you want to advance at some point to be able to keep improving. Both methods can get you under a minute with enough practice, but badmephistos is easier to advance from if you don't want to stay on the beginner method forever. People can switch from dan brown to a more advanced method I just don't think it's really the best first step for anyone wanting to get fast. Just my opinion.

I say just keep watching badmephisto's video as many times as necessary to understand it.

Wait, does Badmephisto teach the way Rubiks.com teaches it?

I'm sorry; I'm too lazy to watch his video. O:
But if it is the way Rubiks.com teaches, you should switch.
If you're going to get into cubing, the Rubiks.com method makes it easier to switch into a more advanced method.
Dan Brown's method kind of conflicts with the Friedrich Method on the last layer.

I started off learning dan browns method a year ago. I now use Bad's method. Trust me your times will improve dramatically. At first it was hard for me to kick some bad habits i picked up while learning Dan's methed. Because I studied Dan's vids, for an entire year i had "D" and "D'" mixed up! Your times will drop slowly but trust me by watching Bad's tutorials on Fridrich method you will have a much better understanding of the cube. You will learn about commutators, intuitive f2l, Advanced intuitive cross, and OLL and PLL learning tips.

I have a complete OLL and PLL guide you can download for free. Please download it if you want to learn his method.

ok I have all the steps down on stickynotes for BadMephisto's method. Now for and all ngiht cubing session to try and get it down

BTW this method has the longest algorithm I've ever had to learn (12 turns) :}

Dan Brown's 4x4 tutorial has a few parity algorithms which are over 30 TURNS!!!!

To be fair, those are multiple algorithms one after the other. The longest you need to know is the OLL parity algorithm, which is usually about 15 depending on how you execute it.

Yeah but it's overwhelming especially when considering almost everyone watching that video just learned his 3x3 and have no prior knowledge of OLL which was me when I first learned 4x4

You will learn longer ones. :)

hmm i can think of a use full and longalg to know. try R U R' U R U2 R' U2 R' U' R U' R' U2 R (additional U2 is nessessary to cansel the 2nd U2). learn it forwards and backwards and you have a fun tool, but id probably use it as a short cut for danbrowns method, so im not really being much help. ehhhh theres also the other non 2gen version R U R' U R U2 R' L' U' L U' L' U2 L. HAHA

;_;

Another thing that is a little weird

I want to find out how fast im going. I start the timer and its just like any other solve but then i mess up badly and i just DNF it up.

when theres no timer i do fine. But i feel the same when the timers on, I blame luck ;_;
