Hey users. I've been hearing speculation that MoYu is coming out with a 15x15. I am very interested in the 13x13, but would rather have the 15x15 if the price is a slight bump. I want to know if these rumors are true. Please reply.

They announced it a very long time ago, but, as far as I've heard, there hasn't been any news recently. MoYu very rarely cancels cubes, if ever, so I bet they're still working on it. I assume it's really hard to make a 15x15 mech that functions and turns well.

Starting from scratch yes. However a 15x15x15 (and quite a bit higher) can be made by adding layers to their brilliant modified V-Cube design. I guess they will take into account how well the 13x13x13s sold before committing to it.

Dear Mr. Fisher,

I understand how the 13x13x13 mechanism works, but could you please outline all of the key differences please? I am designing a huge cube in Solidworks and would like to make it perfect.

Thanks!

I don't think I had seen the 15x15x15 CAD images when I made my comment. It appears that they have just slotted more pieces into the 13x13x13 three layer design. I am guessing at some stage you might need to add more layers as you increase size. This is for mass produced puzzles though and the expert "home" designers like Oskar and CorenPuzzle have taken a different route. Since I seldom work on 3D printed puzzles myself I don't know why they did theirs differently. I suggest you speak to Oskar about it. He is always pleased to assist on such matters.
