His World Rankings
3x3 12 Definitely Done
4x4 2 Maybe Done
5x5 3 Maybe Done
6x6 2 Maybe Done
7x7 1 Not yet done
OH 2 Maybe Done

He went from having 12 world records to having 2 which he will lose very soon considering how fast Tymon temofi and lim have been getting he also did bad at worlds 2025 finishing 10th in 3x3 not even podiuming in 4x4 losing 5x5 and also his wr average and just barely managed to win 6x6 and 7x7 and lost 3x3 NAR Average but he did still manage to become us national champion so idk tbh.

icl this sent me, thanks for the laugh brother 😂

Max Park is only really done because he has stopped practising cubing much anymore. I don't know what he is doing now, but he just isn't cubing as much as he used to.
If anything, Max is the best he's ever been despite not practising. He still averages mid-5 in competition, which is on par with Matty and faster than Teodor. He also rarely gets averages above 6 seconds; his last was 6.05, being his first average of the year. He is by far one of the most consistent cubers we have ever seen; his times never deviate much from high 4 to high 5, and he arguably has better consistency than Yiheng or Xuanyi despite being a second slower. The only other person who rivals his consistency is Tymon, who is closer to mid-4 to low-5. But overall, Max is solving better than he ever has in every event; everyone else is only just now catching up to him after his years of dominance. Everyone else has been grinding a lot more to barely reach Max's level, which he maintains with minimal practice. So, if Max ever decides to seriously grind like everyone who is catching up to him, I guarantee he would begin to pull away again, at least in big cubes. Maybe not with as much dominance as he originally did, because everyone else is just getting that good.

But I don’t think we could put him for a candidate for world champion or worlds podiums anymore for 3x3

Yeah, for 3x3, he's just fallen behind the new wave of Chinese cubers at this point. With his simplified solving style, he isn't nearly as efficient or smart with planning as he needs to be if he wants to stay at the top. In many of his past 3x3 WR's, it's pretty obvious that his solutions were never the best, and he almost always missed much better pairs in favour of a simple approach. Though this is one of the main reasons he's as consistent as he is, despite not using ZB to get an advantage in that way, as Tymon has. He is simply no longer fast enough or efficient enough to be at the top of 3x3 for World's, but at US Nationals or NAC, he will still have the edge over other solvers because of his consistency, and I believe he will continue to have that edge until solvers like Matty or Kyle learn how to handle their nerves in competition.

the chinese kids are just too fast
For big cubes though, he could easily take back all the WRs if he practiced more. He’s definitely not getting a 3x3 world championship podium or a 3x3 WR anymore though. Max is also getting old. He can’t keep grinding anymore. He needs to prioritize things that will benefit him in life, and cubing is not one of those. Just like the saying: “What comes up must come down”

He can’t be the best forever, and that’s the painful truth about a lot of things in life.
