Interest in cubing irc channel?

[It3ration]

I was just wondering if anyone had any interest in creating an irc channel for speedcubers to swap ideas/talk. Would anyone be interested? We'd have to register it probably.

Maybe like #speedsolving or something?

Cheers.

You mean #[email protected]? There's a Swedish one as well elsewhere.

[joey]

Yah, it sounds like a good idea >_>

[masterofthebass]

yeah, let's do it!!!!

*goes back in time 6 years*

DONE!

[Claesson]

The "swedish" (its not only swedish) one is #rubik @ quakenet (the largest net in the world). On Quakenet there is also #rubikkocka for the hungarian fellows!

[Rubixcubematt]

noob question here, but how do u connect to the #rubiks channel on irc.ircstorm.net on cct?

[cpt.Justice]

Screw the irc channel! Lets create a forum instead!

[d_sprink]

I've got another noob question- I've got no idea how to connect with IRC. What do i put in as the Name and Server paramaters?

[Brett]

http://www.speedsolving.com/

on the left there's a link that says "Speedcubing Chat Room". Click it.

/nick _______

For anyone who has never used irc:

A good client for windows is mIRC:

http://www.mirc.com/

Seems like there's a bunch of people in:

server: irc.ircstorm.net
channel: rubik

Cheers.

[Rubixcubematt]

how do you get to the rubiks channel from cct though?

[It3ration]

cct? what is that.

[PCwizCube]

cct? what is that.

It's a very popular Rubik's Cube Timer that you can download. This way you can save averages and do other things web timers cannot do. Here is the link to download it: http://gnehzr.net/cct/

[PatrickJameson]

File > Connect to IRC server >
Name:[what ever you want]
Nick:[whatever you want]
Server:irc.ircstorm.net

Then type "/join #rubik" (without the quotes)

On Mirc? How about on dalnet server?

[Samlambert]

On Mirc? How about on dalnet server?

Dude, stop reviving old threads, goddammit.

PS: We need some sort of stupidity control.

[tim]

On Mirc? How about on dalnet server?

Mirc is a client and dalnet is a server? That doesn't make sense.
