Improve 3x3x3 simple time

Hello! I recently became a member on this forum, I'm here to seek some help with improving the speed of the simple method that most people learn to start with. I have pretty fast (i think) as my PB is 1:12 with the simple method,the roux & other methods i find to hard to learn, as there is no definate all in one easy to follow tutorial. (please, link me up to a good tut if you can) are there any short cuts you can take in the simple method? Like adding a few algs from roux to it?

It's generally best to just go straight into a new method. Your current [wiki]LBL[/wiki] method doesn't share much with any other "advanced" methods except [wiki]Fridrich[/wiki], which is the most common. It sounds like you're interested in [wiki]Roux[/wiki], though, so I linked you to a tutorial/thread about it.

You shouldn't stick with LBL very long. If you do, learn [Wiki]2-look OLL[/Wiki] & [Wiki]2-Look PLL[/Wiki]. After that really, the only thing you can do to get a really big decrease is learn a more advanced method.

That's the Roux tutorial I used and found it very helpful. I'd recommend learning intuitive F2L first, it'll get your knowledge of the cube to a good place for understanding the concepts, because Roux is VERY different from LBL.

If you think you can get it, just jump right in, though! Roux is fun.

I think that Fridrich is a good start, because it has many of the same things as the beginner method, and it is also used by current/former world record holder (ex: Jess B, Shotaro M, Erik A...) Fridrich is also good, because it is intuitive for the first step basically, and can be combined with the Ryan Heise method. CFOP also allows you to make full use of your interspection time, and it allows you to reconize patterns easily. If you have bad memory, try 2 look OLL and PLL with CFOP. CFOP also prepares you for BLD, but that's another thing. ZZ is also good, but is not good for interspection, so instead, try ZB, which is as good as ZZ and Fridrich, but is really advanced (Note that Petrus is good for FMC, but is kinda slower than CFOP, ZZ, and ZB. Roux is ok, but I know little about it, other than it can be applied to 4x4x4, which is really cool, but not that effective in bigcube speed solving.) By the way, I use Fridrich (CFOP).
