My dad promised me an iMac if I set a record whether national or world. One fact bothers me alot: my age. I'm only 10 and I see this as a very tough job. How do I set a record!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do something pointless or that no one would do. Try cubing for 24 hours straight. I'm sure there isn't a record for that.

thanks for the idea;)i might do it

That has been done several times before. The UWR can be found on www.speedcubing.com

Here's an idea though: Go to a competition and register in everything. Then DNF every single solve. You'll have the WR for most DNFs in one competition.

Solve something faster than anybody else from your country has solved it. Simples.
HAHAHA Not funny. I need to know what I should work on.

Work on whatever record is easiest to set? Asking people won't make you a record holder, and the way that you're presenting your question seems a bit selfish.

The biggest problem is that you're from the USA. And they clearly have some pretty difficult records to beat. If you have blood from other countries you could try to switch allegiance, so that you can get the (e.g. Guatemalan) National Records.

That's cheating.

I guess it would be. Well if he had a passport from another country then he could easily switch, because competitors are supposed to represent the country of their nationality. If he was really desperate then he could move somewhere else. But I'd be worried if anyone considered doing that for the sake of a National Speedcubing Record.

Reminds me of when my dad said I could go to nationals if I won an event at a competition. He didn't actually think I would do it at the time though :P.

But you know what I did? I practiced a LOT and won 4x4 and 5x5 at Armonk Spring 2008.

Really, you act like there's a special secret to getting national records :P.
