Intro

Hello Everyone I'm Deji System Administrator, Network Administrator, Programmer, Chess Player, Go Player, Checkers Player, Othello Player, Cartoonist and one of the very few cubers from Nigeria! I also love movies my favorite genres being Comedy, Sci-Fi and Action (especially Martial Arts).

I had long been interested in the Rubik's cube but then lost interest in it. Pick interest in it again after I watched Will Smith's "In Pursuit of Happyness" around 2008. Then I started learning to cube on the internet (the Rubik's Cube isn't very popular around here) and finally got my first cube in 2010. I have learnt a whole lot since then.

How I solve the cube.

With an already formed pair:
With an already formed pair, I start with Petrus method till I get to the 2x2x2 square. Then I continue with Heise Method up to flipping the edges, insert the last slot (the final pair) with one of the Friedrich F2L algorithms and finish the last layer in 2 steps - Corner-Orient and Permute Last Layer.

Without an already formed pair:
When there's no pair in the scramble, I begin with ZZ's EOL (Edge Orient + Line). I then continue with completing the cross on the D-Layer and solve 3 middle-layer edges leaving the FR edge open as the keyhole. I solve 3 D-layer corners and insert the Last D-Corner + FR edge as a pair. I finish the last layer in 2 steps - Corner-Orient and Permute Last Layer.

What am I doing currently?

1. Collecting edge 5-cycles, edge 6-cycles (i.e. 2 3-cycles), edge 7-cycles and edge 9-cycles (that's 3 3-cycles). I believe the algorithms will be useful for FMCs

2. Taking a closer look at the Petrus Method. After flipping edges, why not permute the 6 corners (put them in their correct locations)? Then the rest of the cube can be finished with only R and U - Corner twists can be done with only R and U, Edge permutation can be done with only R and U

3. Taking a closer look at the Heise Method. Why not Solve the remaining 5 corners first before solving the remaining 5 edges?

4. Finishing the last slot of F2L (and assuming edges are correctly oriented and last pair has been formed): Finish the last slot of F2L while twisting corners. This leaves only permute last layer.

5. Creating a 2-phase solver for the Gilles Roux method. Phase 1: 1x2x3 on L + 1x2x3 on R. Phase 2: Solve Up-Layer + M-Slice

6. Other personal stuffs... :D

Welcome Deji ! I see you like chess, do you know shogi ? It's a japanese 'variant' I like a lot !

Thanks everyone, it already feels good to be here. @MrMan Absolutely! I looove chess though I know not the slightest thing about shogi. Seems interesting actually. @PenguinsDontFly Thanks, I just customize techniques to my likening that's all.

It seems I'm not allowed to post external links. I'm so sorry.
