hey guys i was solving my 4 like a 2x2 for fun then i noticed one thing.... that i actually could solve it like a 2x2! now on to the method idea! i was wondering if it was possible to make 2x2x2 block on all corners of the 4x4 then finish by solving it like a 2x2.
The questions for this theory:
well really there are a lot of questions but they all go into one category: Is it possible?!
well i was just wondering i wouldnt want to take credit for someone elses idea but i would want this idea to be copied from me... so yeah!

Sorry, because I had just joined the forums and forgot to use the search engine. Sorry, but I do know how to spell and use proper English. I do not feel the need to take the time to do this unless I am seriously concerned or happy about the subject because on the computer I find using computer slang to type on forums such as this is fine because everyone can understand me perfectly. Besides you, of course!

Every time I think of this idea, the thing that comes to mind is the inspection you need to solve a 2x2 fast. It's fairly possible to plan out most of a cross while finishing edges, but I don't imagine it's very easy to figure out a first layer or even have any chance of CLL prediction.

Guimond is probably better for that because it allows for really fast inspection.
But anyway the main problem is not with the 2^3 phase but with the reduction phase.

I guess, that everyone who thought about some other method than reducing to 3x3 will first come up with this... It's great idea, but I guess it would be really hard to make some method about this kind of block-building...
